Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar welcomed by Ambassador of Belarus Sergei L. Terentiev
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Egypt, the Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt, Sergei L. Terentiev, organized a lavish reception at a luxury Garden City hotel on July 3.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, as well as the ambassadors of Russia, Serbia, Vietnam, Cuba, Mexico, Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Venezuela.
Also present were Hossam Aboul-Saoud, chairman of Amazon’s board of directors for urban development; and Mahmoud El-Gharib, Vice Chairman of Amazon Holding’s Board of Directors for Real Estate Development.
At the reception, Terentiev presented a set of ideas to refresh bilateral relations, including promoting tourism cooperation and welcoming Egyptian tourism to Belarus, which is characterized by great potential and spa resorts.
“Belarusian universities also welcome Egyptian scholars in all disciplines, which helps to facilitate communication for the opening of direct airlines between the two capitals – Cairo and Minsk.”
Terentiev also underlined the interest of Belarus in developing bilateral relations in all areas and that it is fully ready to sign cooperation protocols with the competent authorities in Egypt, especially in light of the support of the will Belarusian politician after President Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Cairo and meeting with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi.
