FESTIVALS: Without by Luka Papič and Late August by Federico Cammarata and Filippo Foscarini win the 15th Beldocs in Belgrade

BELGRADE: Beldocs, the Eastern European film festival focusing on non-fiction cinema, closed another in-person edition on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Youth Hall in Belgrade with the awards ceremony.

The prize for the best film in the Serbian competition went to Without / Bez (Serbia) directed by Luka Papić. The prize for the best film in the international competition was awarded to End of August directed by Federico Cammarata and Filippo Foscarini. The festival took place from May 11 to 18, 2022.

Beldocs welcomed more than 170 international guests this year: directors, producers, as well as representatives of global film sales companies, festivals, television, VoD platforms, national film libraries, professional organizations.

The Beldocs Industry, which took place from May 11 to 14, was open to filmmakers from the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia), the Baltic States and the countries post-Soviet (Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine). This year, the first Al Jazeera Balkans Award of 2000 EUR was awarded to We are quite loud (Serbia) directed by Joey David Jovanovich.
