AutoWallis could continue to grow in the Slovenian market after completing the acquisition of Avto Aktiv

Budapest, April 5, 2022 AutoWallis Group has successfully completed the business takeover and real estate purchase of Avto Aktiv, allowing the Hungarian-listed automotive company to focus on further growth. So far, AutoWallis has made two successful acquisitions in Slovenia, making mea major player in the national automotive distribution market: it markets 4 brands of vehicles in 5 cities and is studying the possibility of including additional brands and making new acquisitions.

With the payment of the purchase price, the AutoWallis Group successfully concluded the takeover of the vehicle sales and service activities and the purchase of the real estate properties of Avto Aktiv, a major car sales company in Slovenia. The acquisition is an important step in the life of the company listed in the Premium category of the Budapest Stock Exchange, because

Avto Aktiv’s 2021 revenue of €46 million is significant even among previous deals and represents almost 10% of the company’s revenue for 2021. Avto Aktiv achieved this result through the sale of 795 new vehicles and 458 used vehicles as well as repairs and other related services. Founded in 2004, the sales company is an important player in the Slovenian motor vehicle retail market., selling and servicing BMW, MINI, Toyota and Suzuki vehicles (and is the exclusive authorized representative of the MINI brand) in five cities (Koper, Kranj, Ljubljana, Nova Gorica and Trzin). With this acquisition, the Group continues to expand its Retail & Services Business Unit internationally with the ambition of making AutoWallis a major vehicle and mobility services trading company in the region. This is not the company’s first acquisition in Slovenia: in 2020, the company completed the acquisition of the cothe biggest in untry, and the only one in Ljubljana,

BMW Dealer, which also marked the group’s entry into the local automobile distribution market. Besides, the group is also the exclusive authorized representative of the Opel, Jaguar and Land Rover brands on the Slovenian market. The Slovenian economy and automotive market, as well as their growth prospects, are particularly strong: GDP growth is generally above the EU average, with GDP per capita in 2021 estimated at USD 27,278 compared to USD 17,020 in Hungary, while new car registrations per capita are generally double the average Hungarian.

Péter Antal, head of the Retail & Services Business Unit at AutoWallis, explains that following the success of the recent acquisition in Slovenia, the company now holds more than 50% of the Slovenian market for the BMW and MINI brands, with sales in five cities and six localities. The nearly 30 years of experience, expertise, contacts and capital will help Slovenian subsidiaries thrive in the Slovenian retail market, potentially benefiting from even faster growth, while the synergies arising from their position are beneficial for both the company and its customers and customers. Among other things, AutoWallis plans to optimize the purchasing, IT systems, back-office, marketing and logistics activities of its Slovenian subsidiaries, which improve the efficiency of the Slovenian retail sector. According to Péter Antal, one of the greatest efficiencies are expected to come from inventory management, as instead of a single location, inventory of vehicles and spare parts can now be moved between five locations. He added that this is beneficial not only for the company but also for Slovenian customers, who will be able to choose from larger stocks and also benefit from a higher level of service thanks to the planned improvements. AutoWallis bets on sustainability in the development of its car showrooms and plans investments

which correspond to its strategy and its Green Finance Framework, going even beyond industry standards. To fart Antal pointed out that in addition to organic growth, expansion into the Slovenian market may be possible with the inclusion of several vehicle brands, the possibilities of which are being examined.
