From March 28 to 31, 2022, CPH:FORUM, the international creative documentary funding and co-production event, part of the leading Nordic documentary festival CPH:DOX, announced the 30 international projects that have been selected for this year edition, as well as six other Nordic works in progress that will be featured in the CPH:WIP section. After two years of running online, CPH:DOX is preparing to welcome hundreds of guests to Copenhagen from March 23 to April 3, and industry events will take place both in person and online.
Women occupy a central place in the programming, behind and in front of the camera, and among the selected projects are the new works of Jialing Zhang (A nation of children), Ilinca Calugareanu (Chuck Norris against communism [+see also:

Topics explored among the projects include some of the major issues affecting the world we live in, such as race, equality and the legacy of colonialism, which collide in a personal film by the award-winning Barbadian filmmaker. Jason Fitzroy Jeffers (machete dad). Then there’s the Dutch visual artist’s latest project Renzo Martens (white cube [+see also:

The 30 projects will be presented in five categories: FICTIONONFICTION (challenging works in the hybrid landscape between fiction and non-fiction), CINEMA (high-end cinema feature documentaries with international distribution potential), F:ACT (projects linking the fields film, investigative journalism and activism), ART (film projects by visual artists to be screened in both the institution of film and the visual arts) and SCIENCE (documentary film of creation and new media projects on science and technology).
As for the six current Nordic projects selected for CPH:WIP, which will be presented on March 28, they include the new works of established filmmakers such as Tonje Hesse Schei, Carl Olson and Christian Sonderby Jepsenas well as emerging Nordic talent.
Tereza Simikova, Head of CPH:FORUM, said, “The pandemic has profoundly affected curation across all platforms and has further narrowed the range of films and topics that can be made. It is our permanent mission to nurture a space of originality and creativity, while ensuring that the projects we exhibit can effectively find their audience.
The selected projects will be presented to more than 200 established film financiers, representatives of streaming platforms, broadcasters, film studios and philanthropic foundations. It should be noted that for the ninth consecutive year, CPH:FORUM is awarding the Eurimages Co-production Development Prize, worth €20,000, to the event’s best pitched co-production project.
