Bosnian economic expansion continues in third quarter

Bosnia and Herzegovina‘s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 8.4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2021, following an 11.6% increase in the previous quarter, according to data released by the Statistics Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHAS) based in Sarajevo. show.

It was the third consecutive quarter of expansion after a pandemic-induced recession last year.

The largest increases were recorded in accommodation and catering activities (30.5%); transport and storage (22%); and wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (18%).

On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy grew 1.7%, following a 1.9% increase in the second quarter.
