Croatia and Bosnia open to traffic on Svilaj cross-border bridge


SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 1 (SeeNews) – Croatia and Bosnia have opened the Svilaj cross-border bridge over the Sava River to traffic worth around 23 million euros (26.7 million euros). dollars), announced the Bosnian Council of Ministers.

The opening of the bridge also marked the opening of the Svilaj border post, the Bosnian government said in a statement on Thursday.

The Svilaj Bridge, part of the European Vc Transport Corridor, is located on the 10.7 kilometer Svilaj – Odzak motorway section. It is 640 meters long and 29 meters wide, with three lanes in each direction.

Its construction, which lasted from 2016 to 2020, was carried out by the Bosnian company Hering as part of a project funded 50/50 by the two neighboring countries.

The Vc Corridor connects the Croatian Adriatic port of Ploce to Budapest in Hungary via Bosnia.
