The registered unemployment rate in the Bosnian Federation edged up to 37.4% in July, from 37.1% in June, the Entity Statistics Agency (BHAS) said on Thursday.
Among women, unemployment rose to 45.4% in July, from 45.0% in June. The number of unemployed people in the Federation rose 0.7% month-on-month in July, to 313,574, while the number of people in employment fell 0.3% to 525,292.
The registered unemployment rate is calculated as the ratio of the number of unemployed to the total labor force. In a separate report, the Sarajevo-based statistics agency said the average monthly net salary in the Federation of Bosnia was 995 BAM (EUR 509) in July, 0.7% more than a year ago. earlier. In monthly comparison, the average monthly net salary of the Federation fell slightly by 0.2% in real terms in July.
In July, the average gross salary stood at 1,541 BAM, down 0.1% real-month on month and up 1.1% year-on-year. The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Serbian Republic.
