Minister Dzindic: By the end of the year there will be no increase in the price of gas in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Government Minister of Energy, Mines and Industry Nermin Dzindic said there would be no increase in gas prices from here the end of this year, regardless of the fact that its price on the world stock market has risen by more than 44%, as confirmed by Anadolu (AA) agency.

Dzindic underlined that the regulation on the organization of the gas industry has been very clear since 2007 and that on Thursday, for the first time, all the actors of this organization and Energoinvest as the sole supplier of gas, BH Gas as as a transport network operator, and Sarajevogas as a third-level supply actor for the canton of Sarajevo (CS), which is the largest consumer of this energy source, addressed together.

The director of Energoinvest, Bisera Hadzialjevic, the acting director of BH Gas, Mihajlo Krmpotic, as well as the acting director of the public utility ‘Sarajevogas’, Edis Bakovic, also spoke about the gas supply of the entity of BiH, FBiH at the press conference in Sarajevo which was organized on Thursday.

Hadzialjevic, the director of Energoinvest, underlined that this company has a supplier role, that is to say to supply gas to BiH or to supply it from its own production, which BiH does not currently has no opportunity to do.

Emphasizing that Energoinvest imports Gazprom’s gas from Russia, as there is no other possibility, given that the only active route is that of Zvornik, Hadzialjevic said that the company, as the owner of the gas imported, concludes contracts with transmission system operators and, ultimately, concludes contracts with end users.

BH Gas Acting Director Krmpotic said the role of this company was precisely defined as the role of a transporter who transports gas to end users safely.

“We no longer have the role of supplier, but of Energoinvest, and I hope that in the coming period we can jointly implement all activities without the problems that existed in the previous period”, underlined Krmpotic .

The director of the public service “Sarajevogas” Bakovic, underlined that the priority and the mission of this company is to ensure a reliable gas supply to the CS.

“At the end of August, we connected 450 new users, and with funds from the Ministry of Municipal Infrastructure, 20 more gas users are being connected. As the heating season is just ahead of us, we hope to have a thousand new users by the end of this year, which is satisfactory in the year of the pandemic, ”Bakovic said.

In addition, he added that the goal of Sarajevogas is to reduce the number of solid fuel stoves as much as possible in order to improve the air quality in the CS.
