Coronavirus live updates: India on Thursday reported 67,208 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The total number of cases in the country now stood at 29.70 million, while the total number of deaths stood at 381,903, the data showed. Coronavirus-related deaths increased by 2,330 overnight.

Blockages in April and May to contain Covid-19 likely led the Indian economy to contract 12% in the June quarter compared to a 23.9% contraction in the same quarter in 2020, according to a report from the house brokerage firm UBS Securities India.
